  • Contact Lens Wearers:

If attending clinic for initial consideration of cataract surgery and you normally wear contact lenses, stop wearing contact lenses (5 days prior to the initial consultation for soft contact lenses and 2 weeks for gas permeable or hard contact lenses). This is because the contact lenses change the shape of the cornea and the eyes need to be relaxed down to allow accurate Biometry measurements which calculate the lens to be used for surgery.
